Τίποτα να αποδείξω
Η 25η Απριλίου έχει οριστεί από την International Telecommunication Union (ITU) ως ημέρα των κοριτσιών στις τεχνολογίες επικοινωνίας και πληροφορικής. Η ITU είναι η ειδικευμένη υπηρεσία του Οργανισμού Ηνωμένων Εθνών για τις τεχνολογίες πληροφορικής και επικοινωνιών. Αποτελείται από 193 κράτη και πάνω από 1000 εταιρείες, πανεπιστήμια και διεθνείς και περιφερειακούς οργανισμούς. Η ITU είναι η παλαιότερη υπηρεσία στην οικογένεια των Ηνωμένων Εθνών.
Εκδηλώσεις σχετικές με το αντικείμενο έχουν προγραμματιστεί σε όλο τον κόσμο. Στην άμεση γειτονιά μας έχουμε βρει εκδηλώσεις στην Αλβανία, το Μαυροβούνιο, τη Σερβία αλλά και την Τουρκία. Όχι, όμως, και στην Ελλάδα.
Στην Ελλάδα, σύμφωνα με την ΕΛΣΤΑΤ, εμφανίζουμε ένα μεγάλο κενό στο αντικείμενο. Ενώ στο σύνολο του φοιτητικού πληθυσμού οι κοπέλες σαφώς υπερτερούν, δεν ισχύει το ίδιο και στο πολυτεχνείο. Τα παρακάτω γραφήματα αποτυπώνουν την κατανομή των πτυχιούχων που αποφοιτούν.
Βλέπουμε δηλαδή ότι ενώ έχουμε περισσότερες πτυχιούχους γενικά, στις σχολές του πολυτεχνείου δεν ισχύει αυτό. Η πολιτεία (π.χ. η γενική γραμματεία ισότητας) δεν φαίνεται να κάνει κάτι για να το αντιστρέψει αυτό. Υπάρχουν όμως κάποιες προσπάθειες που θέλουμε να επισημάνουμε σήμερα. Από τις πιο επιφανείς είναι οι GreekGirlsCode και οι GreekWomeninSTEM.
